DARK HALF
I got company in the womb of a ghost mothership. Destination: Land of the Dead on a one way trip. Fresh air beckons beyond the stench of death. Draw breath. Placed under developmental arrest. Suckled long on sour breast. Sharing poison memories with an ugly twin, closer not kinder than kin, and now it's me or him. Mother knew best, but I broke the bond of flesh and burst forth from my dead twin's chest. A sibling itch that can't be scratched jettisoned from the airlock hatch. The atmosphere enters my lungs and I pray I saved the Good Son.
